Robotics is Back!!! Let's DIVE in to the new season!

We're back with a new season of Robotics! This year FIRST has an ocean-inspired DIVE! robotics season and teams will use their STEM and collaboration skills to explore life beneath the surface of the ocean. FLL Teams' Season is titled "Submerged", while FTC is "Into the Deep". We'll have to wait until January to find out what FRC will be challenged to do in their "Reefscape" Season.

In the meantime, FLL Explore (2nd-3rd grades) students, coaches and parents can use these resources to learn more about their Submerged Challenge HERE. Scroll down until you see the Submerged 2024-2025 Resources. All 2nd/3rd grade teams will participate in the end of the season event, Bloomfield Bash on December 7 from 8am-1pm at North Hills Middle School.

FLL Challenge (4th -5th grades) enjoyed their Submerged season Kickoff Sunday 9/8/24. Teams had time to brainstorm and ask our high school team members about strategy and programming. Students, coaches and parents can learn more HERE. All 4th/5th grade teams will attend at least one regional competition where they will compete with other teams for an opportunity to go to the state championship. Individual teams and coaches will decide on a date and location.

FTC (6th-8th grades) celebrated their Kickoff Saturday 9/7/24. Teams attended workshops led by the high school team to hone their skills, learn what different sub teams do and then all teams watched the season reveal of Into the Deep. Watch it HERE. All 6th-8th grade teams will compete in at least one regional competition with the hopes of advancing to the Michigan State Championship or beyond! Individual teams and coaches will decide on a date and location.

FRC (9th-12th grades) have been BUSY all summer competing in off-season competitions, winning the prestigious Kettering event last weekend! They held an FTC camp and look forward to hosting FLL Challenge and FTC camps next summer. Stay tuned. Their regular season begins in January with "Reefscape".

One off-season event you may want to attend is coming up on October 19! Join us for the 12th Annual Bloomfield Girls Robotics Competition at Bloomfield Hills High School. Bring your robotics student to watch the high school girls compete in this highly competitive competition. You can drop in all day to watch our Black Hawk girls!

Lastly, It may seem like robotics will overtake your world for the next few months, but we're here to help you encourage your students to work hard, have fun and be the engineers of the future!!

Please reach out to your coach who is likely overwhelmed! You can help the team with smaller tasks the coaches may have such as ordering t-shirts, organizing snacks or carpools, chaperoning field trips or competitions helping with photography and more. We appreciate your commitment bringing your students to practice and events, helping out your coaches when asked and spreading the word about our program.
